Our Vision
Our vision, guided by the Love of Christ, is for every individual seeking a clean and sober life to be able to be offered a place of community, a supportive home, and safe place to grow within the spirit of Christ’s love. We will strive to provide a place where they can earn respect and build relationships that will serve them in their new lives.
Our Mission
BCCR’s mission is to provide men and women with a safe, clean, sober living environment. We allow residents the opportunity to grow spiritually, interact socially, and develop life skills in a structured environment by giving them the resources and tools needed in their new journey of freedom. BCCR is the last step for men and women to transition into society one day at a time while residing in a structured, sober living environment.
The Gray House
The Gray House is a men’s sober living house to help those who are transitioning back into society, those who are battling addiction and those who need a hand up.
In our third year of operation, we are experiencing a 70% success rate of the 56 men who have completed the program and transitioned back into society successfully
Guiding Principles
1. Helping every resident possible come to a mature faith in Christ As a Christian organization. BCCR believes that a personal relationship with Christ is the most valuable thing and any resident can have in their life. Many will come into the program with a profession of faith, and BCCR seeks to help those grow in their faith during their time. For those who do not, BCCR tries to ensure that each resident will both have the chance to learn about Jesus Christ and to see examples of Christ in the leadership and in other residents.
2. Setting up residents with the best chance for long-term success Each resident who comes to BCCR is on a long journey, and their time with BCCR will only be one part of that journey. BCCR is not only focused on their time in the program, but also on providing residents with resources, relationships, and guidance that will serve them in the long-run, even far after they graduate from the program.
3. Providing community and belonging for every resident, both while in the program and beyond. One of the most important needs that each individual has is to belong, and many BCCR participants lack the support of family and community that so many others take for granted. BCCR strives to be a community for each resident, but also to connect them with churches and with others who can provide a longer-term community and fellowship. BCCR also seeks to change perceptions in the community of those who have experienced incarceration and/or addiction, as well as perceptions among the residents of those in the community.
4. Offering a personal path to success and stability for every possible resident. Each person’s story and needs are different, but many programs can only offer one model of solution for all participants. As a smaller and newer organization, BCCR does face many additional challenges compared to other programs, but these characteristics also allow it to be more flexible and personalized for each resident.
